Shoot News
August 08
The KK shoot last weekend went off without a hitch
and the weather was OK, by that I mean we didn't have any rain, the
wind was the usual Kenwith breeze. In a close fought battle Kenwith
retained the KK trophy for the third year. The round that we shot
was the Brazil, being the first time that Kyrton had done this round
I thought they shot very well, we then added all the handicaps and
the scores were; Kenwith 8177- Kyrton 8121. Our team consisted of
Elaine and myself in the barebow, Simon and Mike P in the longbow
and Steve and Paulette in the recurve, well done to them, also thanks
to all the other members who shot but didn't make the team, Photos
soon on the photo page, thanks to Paulette....Cya.
Committee News
August 08
You may have seen a lot of the members stood about the carpark pointing fingers, the good news is the committee have agreed to fund a new extension
to the pavillion on the right hand side as you look at it, onto the left hand side there will be an edition of a 'bus shelter' type of arrangement
which will cover the frostbite line. Also a big discussion at the meeting was if we could afford to shoot on two nights indoors, with the extra costs and not alot of members joining from
the last beginners course, if you have any feelings on this subject please speak to a member of the committee....Cya

Brazil Shoot
May 08
With downpours predicted it was looking as if we
might have to call off the Brazil shoot, but, it was clear on the
day with a light wind, and as you know, a light wind on the Kenwith
field is about gale force 20, never mind the archers that turned up
had a great day, Penny came with her now famous Scones and the annual
debate insued, jam and cream or cream and jam.........deffo on the
jam and then cream.....Elain also brought a couple of fantastic quiches
and Paulette brought some apple pie and cream......now after lunch
the archery wasn't all that great but I'm not surprised after all
that. The Roy Smale speed shoot was good, 6 arrows in a time limit
of 40 seconds.........or in Elaines case the first arrow in the flag
on top of the boss and the rest of the time rolling about on the floor
laughing, shame more of the club didn't turn up, but for those who
did, well done!!

best and acheived second place in the Longbow......
Handy hints in the recurve department
April 08
I found this on the internet so I thought I would
pass it on, it's the most I have seen written on the recurve, worth
a look even if you think you know it all........
Good Results at the DCAS Indoor Champs
March 08
A few Kenwith archers took the trip to Plymouth for
the DCAS indoor champs, Elaine McIntosh came away with the Gold in
the ladies barebow, closely followed by Penny Bury who claimed silver,
archer of the day must go to Simon Chapman who in his first year,
came fifth in the Gents longbow, well done everybody.
Beginners Course Date Set
Jan 08
Terry has set the date for this years beginners course,
April 30th, there will be only one course this year, the problem in
previous years is that after the course has finished the novices still
need to be looked after, with two courses a year that means most of
the coaches lose out on alot of outdoor shooting if members could
be at the course to help out that would be great.
Archer of the Year
Jan 08
As in previous years the club has voted and this
years winners are, for the seniors, Penny Bury, Penny has shot well
all year with much improving scores and has become our top lady barebow
archer. For the juniors the winner was Jay Oakley, Jay has also shot
well and with the coaching Jay has recieved from his Dad he has gone
on to shoot well throughout the country. Well done to you both.
