Weekly Update 11.06.2010

Hello Everyone

I hope you all enjoyed the club fun shoot on Sunday 6th June and although it started of very misty it brightened up into a great day. A big THANK YOU to all who helped make the day a great success this year we had the Brazil shoot in the morning followed by a lovely BBQ ( paid for by the club) and in the afternoon the Clout memorial shoot to remember Alison Edwards.

Many thanks to Barry Edwards for all his work on the Clout memorial shoot to remember Alison Edwards his late wife , Alison was a great person and a friend to all the archers and always helped the club when she could she will be missed.
Barry kindly bought and paid for all the clout trophies himself and done a great job at presenting the trophies to the winners of the clout.

BBQ was lovely and the baked potatoes went down a treat.

Well Done to all the winners and everyone else who took part, you all looked like you enjoyed it and we will be doing the clout shoot again soon.

DATES FOR YOUR DAIRY !!!!!

Here are some dates for your dairies please make ourselves available to help out on any of these dates , as I said at the gather round on Tuesday night there is a lot of members who HAVEN’T helped out this year or last year and I want to see you helping your club and working as a unit. Kenwith as I club is getting more notice by other outside companies and being asked to do more have a goes , and without you ALL helping out this will never succeed .

I am not here for all of next week 13th -20th June as I am shooting at Dunster all this week, I will have my mobile with me should you wish to leave me a message and when I have finished shooting each day I will check my messages and get back to you.

Tuesday 15th June Juniors club night 6pm -7pm Terry King shall be taking the juniors as I am not here so if you can help Terry with the set up and watching the juniors that would be great.

June 18th Help to set up on Friday night at Tapley Park 7.30pm ( contacted Terry King or see him at the club)

June 19th Have a go day at Tapley Park starting at 9.30am – 5.30pm ( People in charge on the day Terry King,, Steve Burgess, Simon Chapman )This will bring in a lot of money for the club so please help.

June 24th AGM for all of Kenwith Archers taking place at Kenwith Field 7pm start with drinks and a finger buffet

June 27th Flaming arrows practice session up at Kenwith Field 2pm start ( this will replace the one on the 20th due to the have a go on the 19th June )

July 11th Have a go at Wossley Fair start time TBC.

July 25th Kenwith Archers open shoot

August 7th, 8th & 9th this is summer kids week and we need people to help in the morning session’s or afternoon session’s. This will bring a lot of money in for the club so please help.

August 28th is the Torrington cavillers Flaming arrows day & night WE NEED AS MANY CLUB MEMBERS AND PARENTS AS POSSIBLE TO HELP OUT WITH THIS AS THIS IS A BIG EVENT AND WILL BE ON ALL THE NEWS CHANELLS .

THOSES OF YOU HAVING YOUR OUTFITS MADE BY Ilene King and June Gaydon please see both the ladies about what you need as the material is now here and if you leave it to late they ladies WILL NOT have time to make your outfits for the night.

We have some new members joining the club after our latest beginners course and I wish them all a warm welcome and good shooting , please make them feel welcome and help them out if they ask for help.

Grand Day

Some of us attended Grand Day on the 3rd of May and as a club we done great we got more Medals and trophys than any other club there, and Penny Bury came 1st on the Ladies barebow with Josh Slade coming 6th in the Gent recurve where he was shooting as a senior and with new arrows (well done Josh) Dean Stojic got his 1st class classification , and I came 2nd in the Ladies Recurve. You can all be very proud of yourselves that as a club Kenwith is BACK ON THE MAP !!! other archers beware J

Beginners Course

The Beginners course is in full swing, if you are interested in archery its still not too late, just drop us an email or give us a bell and we will try to squeeze you in somewhere..
